That's what I bought to replace a linksys wrt 54gs. The 3000 was easy to set up and finally allowed me to secure my network. My son's older model xbox 360 would not connect to the 54gs with any kind of security enabled. I highly recommend the e3000.

Correct me I am wrong but cisco and linksys is the same company.
Think of Linksys as the Small business level/consumer and Cisco as the Enterprise
Cisco either bought linksys or created the brand - linksys is SBS/consumer compared to Cisco Products, I guess the brand was created to appeal to the consumer as a "Cisco Modem" often starts in RRP's of $600 US for their basic models. Note that to program a "cisco modem" you will have to learn Cisco's programming language, either SSL, telnet or Hyperterminal. whereas linksys, is more like, login via URL in a webpage. Regardless, they are VERY different.
Cisco is the Parent Company, i believe they also bought Dlink recently too. just as they have acquired snapdragon in the past too.

now looking at the Linksys E3000 any info on this one
Avoid this one it has given me nothing but trouble. It gets very hot, and I have had to reboot it 2 to 3 times a day sometimes in order for my network to function.

I too have the Linksys E-4200. It's dual band, with 4 gigabit ports. It's a bit much as far as price but when I uprade the familys laptops I'll be set. I've always used linksys products and never had a problem except for those that I caused.
