Disable only internet access, not the connection

    Hello there,
I was wondering either it is possible in windows 7/XP to disable an internet connection on a certain network card. I dont want to turn it entirelly off, because the LAN connection is still needed.

Any help would be really aprichiated :).

What router is being used? Maybe it can block the traffic that you want stopped.

Some routers can block traffic for a certain network adapter for a certain computer while allowing all other computers full access to the internet.

If the computer moves around to other networks (other routers) and you want the internet traffic blocked, then it will be much harder to do what you want done.

    Do you own/control the router?

This case is for our client and i think hes in the control of hes router. I only dont know the model of hes device. A better choice would be to block the connection in the computer on a client level. But if thats not possible, could you explain how to do it on the router level?

The methods vary from router to router.

Here is what a router interface might look like for a home user:
Disable only internet access, not the connection-router.png
The "PCs" can be selected by the MAC address of the network adapter used to connect to the router.

The interface for a commercial grade router might look very different... but it should have the feature.

If this must be done at the computer level, then you are looking at learning everything that the computer will ever need to do on the LAN so that the blocks that we put in place will not impact LAN traffic.
