Well my problem is gone now. I rebooted and shutdown several times last night. It always had the internet right away. No more of that yellow exclamation BS over the icon!!

What did I do? I did several things. One was a variation of this https://www.sevenforums.com/network-s...ndows-7-a.html

But I don't really think this did it, well it was still failing after this. My settings were pretty much there already. And, I did not assign a static IP. I left it at DHCP. Oh but I did create a new workgroup. And changed the sharing settings in there. So you may want to take a look, if you haven't.

What really seemed to do the trick was there was an option next to the Home Network part there in Network and Sharing Center. It said "ready to create". So I created a "home group" or whatever. And finally the unidentified network went away. Then disabled - re-enabled the NIC.

And it's been working ever since. But we shall see.

blackt12, I don't know if your problem is the same as mine. As you don't have the "unidentified network", and you say you get some intermittent access? I would get nothing, if starting up the PC. I had to do a variation of disabling the NIC, and other BS.

But I'm happy now. Working on my EMU 0404 PCI issue now.

Also, unrelated, I got a BSOD when shutting down once. I NEVER got a BSOD in my Windows XP Pro install. Go figure.

I think I just about fixed mine.

My solution was rather... blatant, I just uninstalled my two adapters in Device Manager and then rebooted. My PC then installed the drivers by itself. After this I unplugged then plugged my router back in - It seems to be going rather well so far.

So your setup is different than mine, you have two network adapters.

But your solution soundslike the quick fix only. Does it connect from a computer shut down?

    See if this helps:

Click Start -> Run and type in: cmd
A Dos window will launch -- inside that box, write in: netsh winsock reset

    Hit enter and reboot.
