Can not connect laptop to wireless lexmark printer

Wireless connection issue. Provider: TWC. Broadband Connection: Cable. Router: Belkin/Model#F9K1102V1. Printer will not recognise new network name, nor p/up new IP address. Wireless signal is great. Computer can't complete the printer software installation. Cleared all printer settings, but printer still picks up a print server connection.

How exactly are your devices connected? Is the printer a Wireless printer? Or are you connecting the printer to the router (via an ethernet cable, etc...) and then trying to connect the laptop wirelessly to the router and thus to the printer?

    Printer/Wireless Network/AD Hoc Problem

I'm certain I created an ad hoc connection, not knowing what I was actually doing, and I gained enough information to delete the ad hoc from the network. However, when I print a test page from my Lexmark x4650 wireless printer, it still shows this: BSS Type/ Ad Hoc, SSID/print server 849..etc, Trouble Code: Can't find wireless network, Wireless Security Mode: Disabled. I thought perhaps it was as simple as resetting the printer settings. Nope, not that simple. Hope I've supplied enough info. for someone to relate. Thanks in advance.
