unidentified network with 1 of 2 computers.

Okay so, probably a month ago I had a new internet connection.
It worked fine I had a gateway from them and just plugged a cable into my computer and I was online.
Yesterday my girlfriend bought a computer, I read that if I wanted more than 1 computer to have access to the internet I should connect a router to the gateway and from the router put a cable into each of our computer.
So I did, and my computer connected perfectly but my girlfriends computer says Unidentified Network.
I tried Disable the LAN and Enable it again, i tried to use the "Selective Startup" restarting both gateway and router but nothing worked.

Since I just changed connection I still also have the connection from the old company and if i plug her computer to that with a cable it connects and she is online.
But since the new connection is alot faster and we're gonna lose the old one we want her connected to the new one aswell.

PS. I also tried to /release and /renew the ipconfig

The connection type and settings depend on if the original modem is a modem/router combo or just a modem.

If it's a modem/router combo then you would need to either set it in bridge mode so as to bypass the router part or you can turn off DHCP on the secondary router.

You might also need to plug the cable into the LAN port on the new router depending on what the modem/router is.

I don't have enough information to give a more accurate response in this case.
