Homegroup not working, server unable to start smb1/2 issue

Hi after cloning a disk with bad sectors (having fixed them all) Boy was I lucky! I have run into an unusual issue.
Everyting works great except homegroup. I can't leave it or see the password. Server in services is not started and when I try and start it, I get a dependancy error . Checking the logs the same 4 log entries keep repeating server SMB 1/2 srvnet failed.
So did a sfc scannow and that reports unfixable srvnet sys. errors.
From there I'm a little stuck. Can I replace the srvnet with another copy or is it machine specific?

Any help would be appricated
Thanks

You might try using the hot fixes for the srvnet.sys problem, the link shows KB's with link's to various hot fixes that may help. It say's that it's for Windows servers and Windows 7.

List of currently available hotfixes for the File Services technologies in Windows Server 2008 and in Windows Server 2008 R2
