I'm a great fan of municipal utilities; when I lived further north, I got my electricity from the county Public Utility District. Great service at a great price. I've yet to live in an area with muni broad band, unfortunately. Too bad so many are indoctrinated into thinking anything the people do collectively is somehow the moral equivalent of raping puppies

Comcast just gave me a 50Mbps speed upgrade for free.. from 250Mbps to 300Mbps
but the speed test shows even better!

That could be due to three things:
1) Packet compression.
2) Multi-bonded fiber connections to the server, server infrastructure.
3) Bursting for the first what ever megabytes from Comcast.
