Wireless Network Adapter Unable To Obtain IP Address...? HELP!

    Hi,

So I have an Acer Aspire One notebook and I recently got a virus on it due to something that was going round on Facebook... Anyway, I tried everything I could to try and get rid of it, but then came to realise my only solution would be to restore my computer to factory settings.

I did this and now I can't get it to connect to the internet. It recognises the network and connects to the network, just with no internet access as it says that the wireless network adapter can't obtain an IP address... I have googled the problem and seen lots of posts about it, but they are all too technical for me to understand how to resolve it.

I am a 23 year old and have mild learning difficulties. I can understand what I need to do if it is explained in as simple terms as possible, but I don't understand a lot of the terminology.

It has always connected to the internet absolutely fine so I am not sure what the problem is.

I would really appreciate it if someone could offer me some help with resolving my issue.

    Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I forgot to mention... I have also tried to connect through an Ethernet cable but it just states that the LAN can't obtain an IP address either.

Again, thanks in advance for any possible help.
