    Get router attached devices info

I use Fing for Android which shows me a bunch of info for connected devices on the router including their IP address and name, but sometimes it's not enough and I'm looking for a Windows 7 tool that does the same thing. Is there something I'm missing in Control Panel or command line or do I need to install a third-party tool?

I don't know that Windows itself has that info, but if you log into the router itself (run ipconfig /all in command prompt, and use the default gateway as the address in a web browser) - this should give you what you are looking for.

    Per example:

This is what I would do if I had router admin login, but Fing does not require that, and I am looking for a good Windows 7 equivalent to Fing.

Can I just ask, why exactly do you need this information?

We were trying to troubleshoot why a printer stopped working after a modem switch. I don't understand why us wanting that information is a security concern when I can view it on Android but not Windows 7. That seems more like an issue with Windows.

I'd really love to know some recommendations people!

Just a question, is the printer using an Ethernet connection to the Router or USB to a computer?

Usually a Router password can be cleared by following the manufacturer's recommendation for doing a Reset using the Reset button on it [not a power-off reset].

click the Start button , click Control Panel, click Network and Internet, and then click Network and Sharing Center. In the upper-right corner, click View full map. (If your computer is on a domain, network mapping might be disabled). Once the map is created you can right click each device and click on properties for the additional information.

Mine shows only the Ethernet-connected devices, none of the Wi-Fi.

Log into your router and check under the Wireless setting for something similar to Isolate Wireless

The printer is using an ethernet connection to the router but that doesn't matter; it could be using a wireless connection, that makes no difference to my question. I just want a tool in Windows to see IPs and their computer descriptions like I can with Fing on Android (has anyone here even tried Fing? It's on iPhone too).

The router password has nothing to do with this issue; it is easier to use Fing on Android than log into the router admin but it would be easier to use a Windows tool than Fing.

Please just someone recommend a tool for Windows that does this.
