    Cannot connect to any network

Hi all, I'm trying to fix an acer aspire 5552 for a friend as they can't connect to a network, I've brought the laptop home and it doesn't find my network either? I've tried Ethernet too and it just says not connected when you click connect to a network?

No question marks in device manager, and she has done a system restore but to no avail, got an error 651 when trying to open a new connection as well, any ideas? Thanks

Make sure wireless is not disabled on the laptop. A lot of times there is a physical switch on the laptop to turn it off and on.

Try installing the latest drivers for the wireless card and ethernet.

Have you tried performing a system file scan to check for corrupted system files. The following commands works well for this. You need to pass this scan in order to expect anything to work correctly.

Let me know the results of the scan which needs to be run in an elevated command prompt.

    Code:
    sfc /scannow

Thanks' I'll try that, but I'm tempted to do a factory reset, there's not much stuff saved and loads of useless programmes, anyone know if there's an inbuilt reset in these machines?

There is system restore but it often times will fail once a machine has corrupted system files. I've seen the sfc scan save many systems as well.

Says I must be an administrator running a console session in order to use sfc utility?

Thanks for help guys, ended up doing a factory reset and all seems good. There was obviously a few issues with the system, kept turning itself off and stuff, couldn't do a scan, thanks
