Problems with DHCP not at all/quickly assigning an IP address

Like the title says, I am having trouble connecting to the internet. It seems like DHCP is not working, though it is running. I have tried disabling ipv6, setting up a static ip and neither worked. It persists if windows firewall is turned off. After some time it does successfully connect to the internet, but whenever it restarts or the lease expires, poof goes the connection.

    netsh winsock reset does nothing

I have tried restarting the router several times. I have several other computers that can access the internet from the same router. here is a pic of the router "attached devices page"

With the signal strength at only 34% I would not expect a reliable connection.

    Signal : 34%

I don't really expect a reliable connection, but I am hoping to at least get one. Is there a way to at least do that?

EDIT: or increase the signal strength? possibly better antennas on the wireless card?

Yes you will need to increase the signal strength as 34% will most likely cut in and out.

There are USB NICS that come with USB extensions that can give you a better signal etc. so many other options for this, like locating the router in a better position or adding a wireless access point or signal booster, but it's safe to say that signal strength is the issue here and there is no magic involved with wireless, it's only as good as you make it.
