Wired LAN Connection "Unidentified network" No network access

    You may check the list here from Amazon, please get a gigabit card-see the first one, either PCI/PCIe Card. You may also find a Network Card from your local retail store. There's no need to buy an expensive one.

    Please remember that I have only suggested that it might be a bad NIC, make sure that if you'll need to return it for any reasons it's a hassle free return. I always buy from reputable Vendors.

    Hi, so I just went to a service computer this afternoon and when he plugged a LAN cable to my laptop there, it worked perfectly. So I was totally confused of what is wrong with my laptop right now.
    I live in a university dorm, so I can't do anything with the university internet. However, I came to my friend's room and used his LAN cable from there, which works perfectly for his laptop, but the problem remains the same for me. Does anyone have any idea? Thanks!

    You will need to consult the Uni IT Dept.
