It was for the NOSFERAtux.... May be he or anyone else be able to understand the Problem....
Still waiting for any solution! Nothing helped so for!
Please try the isolation steps I just posted a bit earlier then followed by the wireless troubleshooting.

When you get to the part where you reset your wireless router settings, in the channel it says FCC (1-11), I'd suggest picking either channels 6, 9 or 11 instead of the full range.

Let us know how it progresses

    Hey Nosferatux

Today at lunch I went over to Starbucks. Fired up win7 and accessed the tmoble site without any problems. I surfed the starbucks site learned all about coffee and then went to the ATT comercial link and learned all about ATT. So.........

Would this mean that my problem is with my netgear routor only??? Its a netgear CG814wg. I went to the neatgear website but was unable to locate a vist driver or any other type driver for this cable modem. Any suggestions?

I'll be home at 7 pm local east cost time (washington DC) if you want to remote access my machine. Perhaps you can email me at mustang1212@hotmail.com to further discuss

    That is great news smooth1212!

Now we know that there's no problem with your wireless adapter and your computer configurations

    You've graduated to Router configuration/compatibility issue :)

There are only two pages available for the Netgear CG814WG

54 MBPS WIRELESS CABLE MODEM GATEWAY CG814WG and
CG814WG or CG814WT or CG814WCOM Cable Modem Gateway
The reference to the CG814M model leads only to a USB driver for Win98/ME

Obviously, they've discontinued this model and didn't publish any firmware update.

Your best shot now is to do a router reset and pick a different channel.
If that doesn't work, we can safely conclude that your router is not compatible with Windows 7.

Please do let me know how you want to proceed from this point

How do I change channels on the router..........
    You're most welcome

This will be a bit easy than the wireless stuff

Connect your computer to the router via Ethernet cable
Open a command prompt and type ipconfig
Remember the IP of the default gateway
Open IE, in the address bar, type http://<default gateway ip>
You will be prompted for a user name and password
If you've reset the router, your default credentials are as follows
    User name: admin
Password: password (or 1234 for older models) source
    Go to Wireless Settings

The channel selection should be easily accessible.

Note: Page layout may vary with your actual Netgear page

Try not to put any security settings first.

Apply your settings. Router may restart depending on model/firmware.

    Disconnect your Ethernet cable
Try to connect to your wireless router

Tell me how it works out

    hey

I have changed the chanel on my router and after restart I´m still not able to connect wirelesslly to him.

router is speedport W701V and my Vista and PS3 can normally surf over wireless. but windows 7 cannot.

    whats your next move.

is there any program that can test our wireless conectivity and then maybe we can paste that here?

Hey Nosferatux, before I try and reconfigure my modem. I just noticed that my xp wireless is managed by intel not windows. Do I have this option with win 7? If so how do I change?

    Hi! Nosferatux
I just temporarily solved the issue!
As u can see in pic given below... Router Network Type is set to Adhoc... Now My both win7 machines connect to Router easily & I can browse the Network & Internet.

    Thanks for your advice!
I will surely experiment more to rectify. But this "adhoc OK" & "else failed" really annoying!

I did read it all and tried it too.

I have just one question. do you think that my problem can be in NAT, cuz its in working state in my router. should I try to connect to him with NAT off?
