    win7 to win8 homegroup?

i have recoverd a hard drive from a laptop(o/s win 7 hp) and copied the lib files to my pc, my daughter has now gone and brought a new laptop using win 8. the back up files are over 40gb(mainly photo`s and pdf docs) what is the best way to transfer the files to the new laptop? i was going to add it to my home group and just transfer that way untill i realised the new L/T was win 8.
i have two pc`s on my network (both win 7 Hp). although i tried win 8 in the early days i got RIDD. I am not sure if i can add the new win 8 Laptop it to my home group or shall i just use a mem stick(a large one).

q1. is home group in win 8
q2 can i use easy transfer.

    best regards topper.

    Hello Topper,

Sure, a Windows 8/8.1 PC is able to join the same homegroup that Windows 7 PCs are joined to and be able to share files between them the same way. :)
