Yellow asterisk on network icon cannot connect to internet. HELP!

So I've had this problem for a while now and I've tried to fix it but i cant manage to do it. My problem is that in the lower right corner, my network icon is grayed out and has a yellow asterisk. however when i click on it it says i am connected to a wireless network and i can still go on the internet.(I am writing this on the computer right now.) but when i go to the network and sharing center it says i am not connected to the internet. because of the fact that i'm "not connected to the internet" I cant create home groups, or play online games. This is really bugging me and I cant quite fix it. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Btw this computer runs on windows 7

Run the SF Diagnostic Utility in the tutorial linked below and post the zip file. Be sure to allow time for all the tasks to complete.

    Hello and welcome to Sevenforums!

Do you know when this happened, like any type of specific event that triggered this?

Have you tried downloading/installing new drivers?

    Proceed with Carwiz suggestion:

Then you can go to Asus and find your NIC/Lan/Wifi drivers in there
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download

Just type in the model name for your PC/Laptop and you will be able to download the drivers
