Home network not showing all connected computers

    Annoying little problem.
I have my desktop, laptop, printer and 3 Raspberry Pi's on a home network.
The laptop and the Pi's can all "see" each other on the network and in the network map but the desktop only sees the laptop,
Otherwise, all machines happily talk to each other, there are no connectivity problems.
    Ideas out there?

Very similar problem but the MS Hotfix did nothing except make the situation worse.
6 month old Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit laptop where Explorer used to see my WD NAS and a Raspberry Pi [Running LibreElec] and display their entire directory trees.

Yesterday, the only thing listed under Network was this laptop.

HOWEVER, assuming I remember a given directory/sub directory I can map to them and I have SyncToy for backups and it has no problem backing up to the NAS.

The only problem seems to be Explorer not showing the network devices.

After applying the HotFix now the various programs like SyncToy could no longer connect. THANKS Microsoft

I did a system restore 4 days back and now I am back to the original problem but at least my other programs can connect.

I created, on my desktop 2 shortcut folders one for the NAS and the other for the Raspberry Pi and when I click on those I can now see the full directory trees but not if I just launch Explorer in the normal manner.

I see this has been a problem going back many years with MS absent from the cause, solution.

Hope someone has found an actual cause and reliable fix.

{EDIT} Synctoy can update existing folder pairs but if I try to create a new folder pair I cannot browse the network to see the NAS.

I also toggled Network Discovery with ZERO change.

I have had MS Updates shut off for over 4 months because of problems like this but I did a full set of updates yesterday and the problem remained.

I have shut off my firewall, no help.

I have rebooted everything on the network including the router. No help

    Boy no suggestions?

This has an ongoing and recurring problem with Win 7 [and others] since Win 7 was released.

In my case the one Microsoft "HotFix" only made the problem worse. MS is stone cold silent on this issue.
