    It shows "unknown".

Then there are options to set up a new connection, etc.

If I try to set up a connection it states windows did not detect any networking hardware.

Very strange run a System Scan to see if there are any missing files ...

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I have another idea but would like to see what the Scan report is first ...

There is a - Network List Service - and it doesn't state "Started" next to it under Status.

    Is that what you meant?

I then tried to start it and it said-
Windows could not start... Error 1068: The dependancy service or group failed to start.

    Didn't work I'm afraid.

I opened the Regedt32 again to check the text was deleted as per instructions and it is. But, no connection.

I checked the Network List Service and it shows as "Manual". Lots of others are now showing a status where they weren't before.

Oh, sorry, The Network List Type wasn't showing as "Manual". That is the "Startup Type" that was Manual.

The Network List Type is still blank. When i try to start it it shows same 1068 error.
