    How can i share between Win7 and Win8.1 ?

So i have a laptop with Win7 and a new pc with Win8.1 both hooked to a router and im trying to share a drive between them and i keep getting the dreaded "Enter network credentials" prompt so...

Can someone share a simple list of things to do to share things...i dont care about security cause all the hardware is my own personal stuff?

    Hello Americanu,

Double check the items in the tutorial below to see if it may be able to help for now. :)

If you like, create a homegroup on the Windows 8.1 computer, then join the homegroup on the Windows 7 computer.
Afterwards, include the drive you want to share in a library of your choice on the computer that the drive is connected to.
When finished, you should be able to share the drive through the library in Homegroup.

Depending on your needs, using homegroup would make it easier to share files.
