Help me not to get sucked in to the internet on my first year in uni!
Hello everyone!
I'm about to start my first year in university, music composition.
- I have a terrible tendency to get sucked into that information black hole called the internet.
- My self-discipline isn't very great in that regard, so "grow up some discipline!" doesn't help. Building this skill takes time, and my generation has a pretty awful starting point compared to older people.
- When I don't have any access to the internet, I tend to work wonderfully.
- It tends to work best when I'm actually in some remote village, writing music, and not by shutting off my router.
What creative solution can you guys think of?
I'm thinking of maybe making me go through a pretty annoying process every time I want to connect. Say, retrieve a password that's randomized on a daily basis, and the password actually comes back only after a few hours of asking for it. My procrastination skills will prevent me from doing that unless I really need to.
How can I do that?
