Windows says connected to internet but no webpages will load

I realize this problem has probably been posted here before, but i believe i have a unique version of this problem. Windows says its connected to the network and internet on both ehternet lan and wireless, but when i open a browser no web site will load. Ive tried firefox ie and chrome. I have went to lan settings under internet options and confirmed that its not set to use a proxy. I have went into ipv4 settings on both lan and wireless adapters and everything is set to use dhcp, i even tried static with no luck. here is the thing that gets me, windows update will connect and download updates, and when i ping a website from a command prompt i get a response back. i have turned off windows firewall as well. tomorrow i will be reinstalling browsers and checking for viruses/malware, but i dont think that will solve my problem. please help

    Welcome to Seven Forums,

By any chance do you have any outdated Anti-Virus or Security/Firewall programs installed in your computer?

Do a test if you have not done this yet - Reboot your computer, continue tapping F8 then select Safe Mode with Networking, see if you can browse freely or not.

Also, please post an ipconfig/all output for us to review?

Have you checked Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections tab, LAN Settings for a checkmark in the Automatically detect item at the top of the list and nothing else checked? Or does your ISP require different entries on that panel?

Well AVG has been updated and I ran a scan overnight with no luck. Also I did check the LAN settings under internet options and everything is set to automatic. I can't post an ipconfig /all output right now, but I will when I get back to the PC. Thanks for the help so far I really appreciate it.
