How do i know why Static IP address dropped and getting into DHCP
Hi All,
I need assitance to find out why some of computer in my work place getting into DHCP. Let me give some insight. We have 1 Server 2008 R2 and 30 Windows 7 pro computer. All connected through network and PXE booted. WInpe and wim are stored in server.
We have script to set IP address, gateway and DNS details wrote using WMI objects. i have found that some computers setting Static IP address however after reboot it loosing Static IP and getting into DHCP. Addition to that i even see When i do ipconfig "Ethernet adapter local area connection 2" when i am setting IP address after reboot it shows "Ethernet adapter local area connection" and this is going to DHCP and getting different ip address.
Additional Information:
--> WIndows 7 SP1
-->Same Mac address
-->checked form event logs couldn't able to get much information why did it dropped static IP
--> Only 1 NIC
I required help in finding why this is happening to some computer and it is very randomly. Please let me which event log location of LAN interface and How can i fix this issue because lot of other application are depend on this static ip which are getting failed.
