Tookeri, I found the ipv6 address but failed to connect via \\ in start because of an incorrect address. The address is too long and tedious, is it worth exploring the ipv6 notion?
I don't know enough about IPv6 so I'm not sure if that's supposed to work or not.

By default, Windows prefers IPv6 over IPv4. It's possible to change that but I can't recommend it: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2533454

As I said before: "I'm no expert in IPv6 so I think you should leave things as they are until someone else maybe can give you some better advice."
As long as it works with computer names instead of IP, you're fine.
