I believe the network adapter is the Realtek PCIe GBIe Family Controller. Before i downloaded the Windows 7 driver it was called Realtek 8110 i believe but changed when i downloaded the driver. Do you think replacing the network adapter would solve my problem?
Try to install the realteck 8110 manually (right click computer in device manager>add legacy hardware>install manualy) after disabling the other one and pick advanced and choose from a list.

It might and might not, depends on whether you have the same problem,we need to find the probelm first:)

Silly question but anyway, you went into the network and sharing centre and diagnosed the connection yes?

okay i tried to install it manually but when I selected advanced it wasn't on the list. There was only Intel and Microsoft ones.

And yes i went into network and sharing centre and diagnosed the connection. It says an ethernet cable is not properly plugged in or is broken.

Now obviously this means nothing to me because I am using a wireless network. Could it be that it thinks its suppose to be hooked up to wired and i can switch it to wireless?

Another thing i found was when I went to change adapter settings. Right clicked my adapter and selected configure. Then clicked advanced and noticed that under network adress None is selected. Is this correct? I Tried entering the ip adress 192.168.1.1 but it did not work.

    Ok,
I take it you tried setting up a wirelless connection?
Do you have your pc network set as discoverable (network and sharing centre>change advanced sharing settings>make discoverable)

And have you made it discoverable through advanced network settings?

And 192.168.1.1 wouldnt work as your not connected to the router.

Can you give me the make and model of your router but more important, your wireless adaptor,i think your wireless adaptor needs drivers.

Hi and welcome to Seven Forums

This is what i found with a quick 5minute search
LG X110/XB110 Mobile Notebook Windows XP Drivers | Notebook Drivers

    They are xp drivers

Typically your problem occurs when your wireless adapter driver isnt up to date.
Make sure your device is discoverable also.
