Printer keeps dropping after system reboot

I have two PC's - Laptop and Desktop, both with Windows 7 Home Premium.

I have a Brother MFC J430W printer, networked with Wifi. My Router is a Netgear N300 (WNR2000). Both PC's are wireless connection

I did a hard reset of my router back to the default settings. I then reset my personal settings back to what they were (SSID, password and Mac Filtering).

The printer icon shows up, but greyed over on the Devices and Printers page.

The printer only drops on my Desktop. The laptop does not seem to have any issues.

Update: After Googling information online and more troubleshooting, I found that the option "Use Printer Offline" was checked. Unchecked it, and BAM...it works.

But now I got a new problem. My scanner isn't working. The Brother Printer is a Printer/Scanner Combo.

So, it is able to print, but I cannot get it to scan. I have tried both via the software App (from the CD) and using the scan function on the printer itself. No luck

What happens if you right click on the printer (shown to be the default in Devices and Printers) ...
in the drop down menu, click start scan

i tried what you said, and the "start scan" option works like a charm.

The Brother Software App somehow is not configured correctly. I am going to uninstall it and reinstall it with the CD that came with the printer.

Well I did a complete removal of the Brother Control Center App and then a reinstall from the CD. So far seems to work.
