Win 7 Netbook Wifi gone and won't come back.....

The other day I suddenly found that I was without any wifi signals.

To cut a long story short I have trawled the internet looking for answers and tried many different options such as resetting winsock, ip releases, dns flushes, uninstalling and reinstalling the wifi and drivers.

    All to no avail.

The wired connection works fine, its just the wifi that has stopped. I am also aware of the wifi 'button' and this makes no difference.

My wifi icon next to the clock has a red cross on it.

Ipconfig shows the wifi connection without a dns or an ip address.

I wondered therefore if anybody could any other advice?

I should add that I have an external ASUS USB N-10 Nano N adapter, that I also tried but despite all the software/drivers being installed fine it does exactly the same as the Win 7 wifi.

You have tried two Network Adapters and none of them work ... That would suggest the fault must be with the Router either a Setting or the Wireless side of the Router has developed a fault ..

    Thanks for the reply.

I have 5 items that connect to the Router's wifi. This netbook is the only one that cannot.

Any suggestions as to what to try?

I was just going by your Previous Posts that neither of the Adapters could get a Signal .. If that is the case and other Devices work could both be faulty ..

    I suppose that is possible.

I wonder if I dare try the USB NANO on my wired desktop Pc. It would prove or disprove whether the NANO works. But I don't want to mess the desktop pc up.

Do not see it doing any harm and it would rule out wither it is working or not ...
