    It means two computers are using the same IP. Are you using DHCP? Are you using staic IP's?

    On one computer try entering this in the command prompt

    ipconfig /release

    then

    ipconfig /renew


    If on a home network, reset your router

Am on a laptop running XP because my new Windows 7 laptop will not connect via this ethernet connection. I'm at a hotel so have no access to the hotels router. My new Windows 7 laptop won't connect via this same ethernet cable because it says someone else on the network has the same IP address....
