How to change the Wifi password of an ADSL modem without a computer

    Hello all,

I use an ADSL modem for accessing Internet in my home. I think my wifi password is stolen. I wanna change it but I have a computer only in my office and use the Internet in my home by my iPhone. Is there a way to change that password with my iPhone or should I surely use a computer to do that work, please?

I dont think you mean modem; but router rather. Is that right? Because usually modems themselves dont have passwords; but routers do. If its the router you want to change the password for; you should be able to use any device that has web access to access the web configuration page for the router and in there it should have a section where you can change the passphrase/password.

Like matts said, if your phone connects to your wifi, it should be able to access your routers web config page. This is where you can change your password. If you tell us the exact model of your router (not modem), we can help you go through the steps.

You need to know what your routers IP address is. Typically its something like 192.168.1.1(or 1.2). Knowing the router you are using would help us tell you exactly what IP address your router uses and what settings to use to change password.

You could also try with your external WAN IP that you can find on www.whatsmyip.org
(only works from your local network when connected to the router)

Or even better: on the iPhone go to settings, Wi-Fi, show details for the active connection, look at the DHCP tab and the address for "Router"

A lot of Cable and ADSL Modems have built in WiFi/LAN routers. But still need the model. I would think he could use his Browser on his iPhone to access the settings.

    Thank you all very much.
Yes, using my iPhone, I could go to the configuration page of the router by my browser and changed the password.
    Thanks again :)
