When I put the ip address in Connection URL, it states " Make sure that: Your URL is prefixed with https://"
So, I am assuming it has to be in a url format.. I then put https:// and the ip address next to it and it states
"Windows cannot find a remote computer that contains the connection. Make sure that you typed the correct connection URL, or your computer can connect to the internet"

I have the ip address to connect to the server and I have the credentials/login information.. I just don't have Windows Remote Desktop on this PC, I use to have it but I believe some sort of update wiped it out

For RDP to work you need access to Port 3389, at both your system and at the remote location, You should be able to open this port on your local system in any local firewall and / or your router firewall. The port at the server end would need to be opened at the server, as well as Port 80

I give up.. I guess there's no way of getting remote desktop back on this PC,
I'm going to ask my boss if I can use teamviewer and perhaps buy me a new laptop sometime soon.
OR also I havent tried a system restore, might try that as well today!
    Thanks for the help everyone
