    limited access with public hotspot

Hello, I've been using a brighthouse hotspot in my building pretty successfully for the last year. But it has been giving me problems the last few days. When i log into the access page i have internet for about two minutes. Then i get the yellow triangle on my networt icon, and limited access. The only way to get rid of the triangle is if i reset my ip, and flush socket catalog and dns, and reboot. But then it only works for 2 minutes again after i log in before the cycle reapeats its self. Any ideas what i can do to fix this? I can't reset the router since i don't have access to it. I've checked my drivers, reset network adapter, flush dns,ip,winsock. But everytime i get the connection to work, it goes back to limited connection after a few minutes.

Hello jcurella, is this typically a router that you are allowed to connect to as in a Wifi hotspot provided by the owner of the building?

Can you also follow this thread and post some of the information it asks for?

I would ensure you have up to date drivers for your wifi/ethernet.

Other problems could be that you have a 3rd party program blocking it, some virus/malware blocking the connection, or simply a bad connection to the router (too far away)

Thanks for the reply gator. I don't think there is a router for the building. It's an apartment complex, and from what I've. Read the isp (bright house) actually uses the routers that they provide for their costomers to act as a public gateway on a seperate channel. So most likely the hotspot is being created through a neighbor's router. Sorry for the lack of info. I'll go though the link you provided, and try to post more info tomorrow. Have ti be up early fir work. Btw, yes drivers are all up to date.
