From the screenshots it appears as though the install went through to a successful completion. Is the Ethernet adapter still missing?

Sometimes I type in shorthand and it's easy for people to not understand - I try to fully explain the best I can , but then my posts are even longer

When you launch any install, the install files/folders are extracted to a temporary location. The actual installation is from the temporary location.

If you start an install, but do not click finish or done, then the install files should still be in the temporary location. That's what I wanted you to find and copy. I don't know where the realtek install puts the extracted files, so I gave you the usual suspect folder locations (TEMP, C:\, C:\Windows, C:\Windows\Temp).

Once you locate the extracted Realtek files in a temporary location, I wanted you to copy that folder to another location (Downloads would be a good choice). You can rename the copied folder to RealtekInstall or something more meaningful than the temporary folder name.

Once you have the install folder copied, I wanted you to try installing through Device Manager by selecting browse for the install files and specifying the folder you copied to Downloads.

Did that make it any clearer?

While you chew on that, I'd like to see one more Device Manager screen shot. There's a little setup before though.

Download and merge (double click) the HKCUdevmgr.reg file

This simply adds an environment variable to the current user. The variable allows Device Manager - View, hidden devices to show devices that are no longer present on your system.

After merging the above reg file, open Device Manager, click on the view menu and select Show hidden devices. Then scroll down to Network adapters, expand the category, grab and post a s screenshot. Please do this before trying to figure out the other stuff I posted.

Could you do the same thing, post a screen shot of Other Devices? Please click View, Show hidden devices again in Device manager.

I have to say that I'm perplexed ... after looking at the Other Devices screen shot (if there are any listed), I think looking at the install log and/or Event viewer might be where I would look next.
