Internet continually connecting, disconnecting on Dell Inspiron 1545

Hi there,

For the last week or two my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1545, about 4 1/2 years old) has had trouble staying connected to the Internet. My partner has a laptop and two ipads that aren't having any trouble connecting, plus i've unplugged etc the router many times--so I'm pretty sure it's an issue with my laptop.

I run Windows 7, x64. I don't need to do anything for it to reconnect except wait a few minutes, but its very annoying. Any help would be appreciated! I'm not much of a techie so I will try to follow along with the suggestions as best I can.

I downloaded Xirrus and have attached the screen shot--hoping that helps.

Unfortunately it's not letting me download new drivers. When I tried to download: Dell Wireless 1515 WLAN Half Mini-Card Driver Dell Wireless 1515 WLAN Half Mini-Card Driver , I got the Fail message #1 (in the screen shot).

Then I tried to download
Intel Intel(R) WiFi Link 5300, Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100, v.tic TRWFW0986D , A01

And I got the 2nd screen shot, also a fail.

Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong??

OK... good news, it downloaded properly and no flickering in and out of connection so far! I'll keep an eye on it this evening and post back here later if everything is, in fact, solved.
