    Wireless security key not accepted

I just did a fresh install of Win 7 Ultimate. I am in a situation in which I do not have access to a wired connection; it's wifi only. The OS recognizes the local wireless router with plenty of signal strength, and the available connections are correctly displayed when I click on the network icon in the system tray.

When I click on the appropriate network and enter the security key, Win7 rejects it. Says it an incorrect passphrase. It's not. I've tried it five or six times (rebooting several times during the process), and the key I am using is correct. I have two mobile devices and another operating system here all talking to the local wifi using that key (I am typing on such a device right now). My wifi is a Ralink rt3090.

Does anyone know what the trouble is?

Hi and welcome to 7F. Have you tried switching off your modem/router for a few minutes then trying to connect again once it's restarted

I would try resetting the router to factory, then connect using the default settings ( http://192.168.0.1 per the info at Tenda ) and username/password ( admin/admin ). Make the appropriate changes to your wi-fi security, then update all of the systems that connect.
