Confirmed homegroup fix (microsoft support)

    Confirmed homegroup fix (microsoft support)


    they work for 5 mins then stoped, i have both computers running the same win7.
    all connections are good and nothing is different from before, i have look over the net and seen alot of people are having this huge problem

    did anyone find out if its a known issue with 7 right now or a way to fix it?

    Confirmed homegroup fix (microsoft support)


    call microsoft support and they got me the fix for the homegroup problem

    1. On Main Computer, leave whatever homegroup you started.
    2. On Main Computer, Reboot
    3. On Main Computer, Go and start a new Homegroup
    4. On Main Computer, Write down temp password
    5. On Main Computer, Reboot
    6. Go to Second Computer and Leave what Group your on there (if your in no group, skip this step)
    7. On Second Computer disconnect from the Internet
    8. On Second Computer, connect back to your internet
    9. On Second computer, go to network and sharing center
    10. On Second Computer,Wait till you see joinable network
    11. On Second Computer, type in temp password
    12. There you go.

    Did not work with a Win7 Home Premium desktop and a Win7 starter on a netbook. But in all fairness, we can't even get the netbook to see the other computer in the home network. Connects to the internet just fine.

    worked on mine premium,home and netbook
    the support agent said if it doesn't work to format .....
    so good luck
