Cant get Internet on new Win 7 install Wire or Wifi

Hello, a friends laptop PC recently lost the Hard Drive just out of warranty and Gateway wont help him without more money so I said I would. I got him a new HD and Win 7 (Had Win 8 installed ) and installed and everything went fine. The laptop PC is working but has no internet connection OR wireless connection.

I went onto Gateways website and downloaded some drivers that said wireless for the laptop but still have no internet connection by cable or WiFi.

The Laptop is a Gateway NE56R34U with 64 bit Win 7.

    Thanks!

Im not sure the sticker says Windows 8 and my friend isn't very PC knowledgeable so im not even going to ask. I would say 8 because he has had it for a while. I looked in device manager and I am getting a yellow explanation under a "Other Devices" and it says network controller. I did a little searching and found a video HERE that showed how to get the hardware ids of the controller which I did. I did a search and there are so many different things to download I have no clue. Below is the ids...

    Network Controller
    PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_661711AD

Most welcome ... That site looks a bit messed up with the Drivers ..

Some for Windows 7 both OS Versions ..

Then you have Windows 8 and 8.1 Drivers ..

Just to confuse things there are Drivers from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Upgrade ..

All the Drivers are slightly different Versions ...
