ideas needed for replacing weather gadget

I've used the windows weather gadget to display current temperatures from selected cities.
But, the server connection is no longer working and with gadgets being a general "no no" for security reasons, I'm looking for something that:

• uses only a small space on the desktop
• launches on startup
• displays current temperatures for any number of cities (and maybe other things, but this for sure)

ideas/suggestions?

I downloaded this when my weather gadget broke. You can customize it to show less details.

Hi Newmarket2, I had the same problem and I use this one now. Looks and acts the same as the default weather gadget.
This one works without issue. :)

You need it in a zip format? I can do that for ya.
not sure I can upload the original format, but I will try.
Original format will not upload...took the zip though.....I will also put it on my google drive 4 ya....original format.

working here in the UK - Google 'addgadgets weather meter'. I have several from them eg cpu usage, network etc

Here is a great pack of gadgets too, works with win7 and 8, LOTS of good ones here. :)

This looks good, but on my one try it wouldn't install under win7

yes I am using it now.
might try Right click, from the menu select "run as administrator".....that might help. I did not have to do that though
