''Network Discovery'' and ''File and Printer sharing'' wont turn off

When using a ''Public connection'' in Windows 7 with a public wifi spot, if i go into Advanced sharing settings and click to turn off ''Network Discovery'' and ''File and Printer sharing'' and then click save changes they never stay turned off.
So i did the following - went to Start , Control Panel , Network and Internet , Network and Sharing Center and click the link for "Local Area Connection" or "Wireless Network Connection" , "Properties", select "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" and clicked the "Uninstall" button.
But still not turning off. Network discovery is always on aswell.

Is this something to be concerned about, and if so any awnsers? Maybe they cannot be turned off in ''public'' mode???

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello Billy,

You might see if you may be able to turn it off in the command prompt with the command in Option Two of the tutorial below. If it works for you, then you could create a .bat file with the command to make it easier to use as needed.

Network Discovery - Turn On or Off in Windows 7

    Hope this helps, :)
