Do you have any QoS management, packet priority, etc that can alter the speeds of a client? I would try resetting the router to defaults and see if it helps. I get all of my 300 Mbps internet using my ASUS PCE AC 56 wifi adapter on my laptop
I hadn't altered these but I reset the whole thing anyway and the problem still persists.

I have a 13mb download speed on my hardwired desktop pc. My lappy used to get nearly the same download speed all the time. My wife's work lappy used to get the same download speeds, as did my (shock horror for a W7 forum) Ipad.
Desktop connection still at 13mb, but wifi devices now at 0.5 mb.

I have one of these wireless cards Asus WL-138g v2 and I have it running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit the card stays connected but is painfully slow when downloading and using the internet. I have tried a collection of different drivers removed anti virus software, disabled all start up items...
So, I had the techy at the office upgrade my laptop to Windows 7 Ultimate a few days ago. Well, it seems that while my PC is directly connected to the internet via ethernet wire... It's speed is flawless. No issues whatsoever.
When I go home and use my wireless, the first minute it will respond...
