slow body, fast but scrambled mind

By the way you guys are great for helping me out. But wish that someone would go remote and fix me up for good. I want to throw these contraptions in the trash they're so frustrating to me now.

    try this
Disabling the UltraNav pointing device and using an external mouse
If you attach an external mouse to a USB connector, you can use the external mouse simultaneously with
the TrackPoint pointing device and the touch pad.
Disabling the TrackPoint or the touch pad
To disable the TrackPoint or the touch pad, do the following:
    1. Go to Control Panel and click
    Hardware and Sound Mouse UltraNav.
    2. To disable the TrackPoint pointing device, clear the check box for
    Enable TrackPoint.
To disable the touch pad, clear the check box for
    Enable TouchPad.

    3. Click
    OK.

You may be better off taking the PC to a service center and have them download and install the necessary drivers for you. It can get a little involved.
It will most likely save you a lot of aggravation.
