Thanks for the response,
Sounds like what DMHolt57 stated is a possiblity-
using the Google DNS set up-
as well as a possible router failure situation

What do you mean by this?
I'm still encountering the problem, it just happened again. If I'm not losing signal, that means its not my laptop, correct? so its definitely on the modem side?
EDIT: I'm seeing a few people with this same problem, cause this cheap ass modem they gave me is a "gateway" (telephony gateway).. this model in general is just faulty.. should I go out and purchase my own modem, and waste money I dont have, or should they be held accountable for not giving me a more high end model with my package? Ive seen other people get "Motorola Surfboards" which are way nicer then this clunky, out-dated looking one they gave me... they're "gateways" too, but they caused no problems, even across a house, through multiple walls...
If you could borrow or buy a cheap N adapter, I think the prob would go away. I think the Broadcom G adapter is old and tired...
could you suggest a good adapter, fairly priced? maybe even a decent modem, just in case its not the adapter? If so, thank you, and I guess just mark this thread as solved..
I'm still getting this problem.. how do I change the DNS address?
its definitely something with my IP address, idk if the router is periodically changing it, and my laptop isnt changing with it, because i have to open command each time it goes "no internet access", while still showing 5 bar excellent connection (Wi-Fi).
This happens almost like clockwork, every ~30 minutes. I don't have to reset my signal, reconnect to my Wi-Fi (I never lose connection, just "access")... and I know to immediately minimize what I'm doing, and IPCONFIG /RENEW (renew/reset my IP).
I just keep CMD open, and my game password copied, because i know when this happens, minimize to CMD and i already have the command typed... hit Enter, and about 5 seconds later i can paste my code and relog, because the "access" is almost instantly restored (like it just sets a new password and go).. but this gets annoying, as you can imagine.
PLEASE PLEASE help! I no longer believe this is a faulty router, but instead something the router is commanding itself to do, but my laptop isnt receiving the same directions, "forcing me to reset my IP"..
Thank You so much ahead of time..
