Local Area Connection Adapter is Disabled

I just got a new W7 computer. I also had a Trenda wireless network to the usb. It connects fine to the wireless network and I can surf no problem, but download speeds leave something to be desired. So I want the hard connection to the router to work, but it doesn't connect.

When I try to create a new connection it asks for a username and password, I'm assuming that this different from the wireless credentials.

Could this be a conflict between the wireless adapter and the ethernet connection?

Disable your wireless adapter to ensure it isn't interfering with your hard wire connection.

If you go into Network and Sharing Center and click on Change adapter settings on the left hand side, what do you have listed in there?

Or if you're not using the Control Panel - > Network and Internet -> Network Connections
