Can't delete nonexistent folder that appears in Homegroup

There is a non-existent folder on my laptop that appears under the Homegroup listing of shared folders on my desktop. When I try to open it from the desktop it says that Windows can't access it. I can't delete it since Windows can't find it. Strangely, it does *not* show up under the Network listing. How can I get rid of it?

What exactly is the name of that folder; approximately what path from root C to the folder? There are some folders best left alone 'cause such belong to Windows' internal operations.

Do you have a home network? (More than one PC sharing a router.) It's probably a folder on another PC in your Homegroup. The folder may be marked shared/read only on the other PC and will stay there until un-shared or deleted on the other PC. It can't be accessed by you unless the other PC is turned on.

    Added:
If you are not part of Homegroup or want to remove the folder, follow this Microsoft Tutorial to remove your PC from the Homegroup.

Thanks to you both for your suggestions, which I'll follow up on. Unfortunately that will be a little while, but I'll respond when I'm able.
