How to assign one static IP on dynamic LAN
Hello people! I have a single access point network with DHCP enabled, and want to assign a static IP for a single notebook, so that I can port forward some applications. I assigned a fixed IP on my Windows 7, being:
IP - 192.168.0.10
Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway - 192.168.0.1
Preferred DNS server - 192.168.0.1
My LAN setup is: Cable - Humax HG100R-L2 - Notebook (Wireless connection, if needed I'll post any other info)
The IP 192.168.0.10 is out of DHCP range. When I set the IP, I cannot open pages on the browser. I managed to open the modem configuration page, but navigation through pages is very slow. Also managed to make a Skype audio call, but couldn't send text messages. I learned online that you could do something called "static lease", but I could not find any option related on the modem configuration page. There is a button called "force available" on the DHCP page, but I am not sure of what it does. When I select my notebook on a list of connected devices and press that button, my device disappears from the list while I still am connected to the network. Am I missing something here? What else should I paste here to help?
Thanks in advance!
