Man, we certainly have been spending a lot of time on this issue, eh? And, I think we may finally be getting somewhere. The reason that I sent you info that may not be needed is that I'm not too good at this and figured it would be helpful for you to have as much info as possible. Sorry, if I've gotten off the beaten track...Anyway,

C:\users\camerasync was nowhere to be found within the decktop's directories/folders.

    select desktop PC....Done

    - if asked enter guest account credentials (not any other account)...not asked for credentials...good thing as I don't know anything about credentials

    - see if you can access the shared folder...there were a ton of shared folders (told you I made just about everything sharable-LOL), each of which were empty. However, in my naivete I did the following test to see if items were indeed shared between the two computers. While in the desktop, I placed a text note into one of the shared folders (lumixPictures) and then checked the same folder in the portable. Amazingly, there it was in the portable's shared folder, Panasonic. So, I guess things are being shared between the two computers.

    - if you can access, then right click - new - text document, close and hit save. See if it will save...Here I have a problem in that I'm not sure what you want me to do. Right clicking on the portable's LumixPictures folder does give a New, but the choices are Folder or Briefcase, with no sign of "text document."

Credentials = proper term for username/password combo

Open a shared folder on desktop with your portablePC, keep it open, move to your desktop
On desktop, open Computer Management - Shared Folders - Sessions: What does it say in User column?
