Homegroup not showing all network computers

Until recently, my networking of computers in my home did not use HomeGroup, instead doing it "the old fashioned way" through Windows. With the installation of a new desktop PC on my network, I tried HomeGroup and it is not working as advertised.

I have three computers. One in Win7 Home Premium, one is Windows 8.1 and the new desktop is Win 7 Pro. All three appear under Network in Windows Explorer/File Explorer and I can access files and pictures that way.

I created the HomeGroup on the Win7 Pro machine. I joined the HomeGroup on the other two machines with the HomeGroup password. The Win7 Pro machine appears under HomeGroup as expected on the other two machines. However, the other two machines do not appear on any computer. The HomeGroup troubleshooter found nothing. All three computers are set "Home" at the network type.

Any suggestions out there on how to get HomeGroup working as it should?

    Thanks,

    Doug

    See if this helps:

Please check your Services in the trouble PCs. Ensure that the required services are Started on all the computers:
    Go to Start\Control Panel\ Administrative Tools\ Services.
    - Computer Browser
    - DHCP Client
    - DNS Client
    - Network Connections
    - Network Location Awareness
    - Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
    - Server
    - TCP/IP Netbios helper
    - Workstation
    - SSDP Discovery
    - UPnP Device Host
All of these services should be started, and their startup type should be automatic.
To change the startup type, double-click on the service name and change accordingly.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion. I checked Computer #2 and Computer #3 and all mentioned services were running on automatic. Each of these computers can "see," in HomeGroup, Computer #1. However, Computers #2 and #3 cannot "see" each other. I tried removing the computers from HomeGroup and re-added them, but no change.

Hey, add to the list the two Homegroup services. Open services.msc and press H, you should see them both.

Old thread, I know. But, I've got the same problem. Except, both HomeGroup services, SSDP Discovery and UPnP aren't running. When I attempt to start them, I come up with a 1068 Error. I've already tried everything in this thread: https://www.sevenforums.com/network-s...HomeGroup.html

    Any other ideas?

Hey Sheepdog, with dependency service failed to start issues, adding the following to local admins group usually help running the service. Maybe it can help you too?

    Code:
    net localgroup Administrators /add networkservice
    net localgroup Administrators /add localservice

Okay, here is where my n00bness really shines... Where might the local admins group be? It sounds like it would be similar to adding something to a batch file?

Sorry for not being clear... Please copy paste them to a cmd prompt. May need a restart afterwards.
