Windows 7: Sharing folders and libraries does not work

Sharing folders and libraries does not work

I have a Win 7 Professional on my laptop and my PC and I want to share folders between them. They are connected to the same LAN network trough my T-Link router. They are on the same Workgroup and Homegroup.
When I share folders or drives from my PC I can see and access them on my laptop, no prob. I can copy/paste files, etc.

When I share folders on my laptop I can see them on my PC, but I cannot access them, throwing:
"Windows cannot access \\Laptop\Ext Hard\
You do not have permission to access \\Laptop\Ext Hard\. Contact your network administrator to request access."

When I share libraries on my laptop they just do not show when browsing the Homegroup from the PC. And I noticed when I go to Homegroup and Sharing Options on the laptop and check any of the libraries then click 'Save Changes', the changes are not saved and the next time I open it the library is still unchecked.

I've tried all standard procedures, but for now no luck. I am thinking maybe I have a Service disabled or a strange Firewall setting, so:

1. What are all Windows Services responsible for the proper operation of folder and/or library sharing so I can check if there are stopped/disabled ones?

2. Where else should I look for options to enable/disable to make this work?

Check the services listed here: Win 7 machines not visible to XP machines within same network

You may also need NTFS permissions (security tab) to reach shares from another PC (depends on where the shares are located).

How long for Homegroup to finish sharing libraries?
Hello, First post here. Is there anyway to tell when the homegroup(Windows 7) has actually finished sharing the library setup? Will the "save changes" button at the botom no longer be greyed out? At the moment most options are not selectable because it seems to be doing its job. But the...
