"All my other computers and the iPhone dont have a problem going online via this router (Thomson ST585v6)."

Wow this is interesting. Have you tried static IP method? copy your IP settings from the machine that worked (their ipconfig /all).

Log onto the machine that works, and provide the ipconfig /all details.

Right - found an article how to change to static :)

But shall I change TCP/IPv6 or TCP/IPv4 to static?

The ipconfig /all details from the working machine are still the same as posted previous except the lease expire date.

Here is what it should look like based on your details.

You may need to shutdown the other machine if it has 192.168.1.64 as IP. No two mahines can use the one IP at the same time.

I followed the article but then I got a message that Windows has detected an IP address conflict, another computer in this network has the same IP address. I shall contact the network administrator for help resolving this issue. And more details are available in the Win System event log.

On the other machine, in command prompt do a

    ipconfig /release

    then

    ipconfig /renew

Check after that it's ip is no longer 192.168.1.64.

done - but the IP-address is still the same

And on the new computer the connection between wlan and Internet which showed before as OK is now crossed out with a red cross (in the Network and Sharing Center).
