    Cannot change/spoof mac address

Hey everyone, i have a laptop with the qualcomm atheros ar9485wb-eg wireless network adapter and i cannot change my mac address. I tried in device manager property but theres not network adapter tab. I tried in regedit to add a string NetworkAdapter but the main mac address always stays... I even tried the program called SMAC but the spoof mac address never replace de active mac address and i have no idea why because on my desktop it works just weelll

Try changing with Win7 MAC Address Changer v2.0 too, are you trying to change to a valid MAC address?

The ability to change the MAC address is not universal. Some network adapters do not support this.

To do this you must be running with an elevated admin account.

Ok so i used the program tmac and it works to change the mac address. Only problem is that it needs to use a mac address that starts with 02 for wireless stuff. Kinda stupid because my wireless card starts with E8... I need to be able to change to what i want because my internet is blocked by having the main mac address... If there was a way to find all mac address connected to the network maybe i could find one with 02- as the first 2 octets

The one I linked doesn't work for what you want? post #2

Make sure you are not having 2 same MAC addresses simultaneously. That may cause issues with networking.

For me personally I can't change the MAC address for an active network adapter so for wireless networks I have to disconnect the network and switch off Wi-FI (via a hotkey) before I can change MAC address. Then reconnect.

well my internet blocked every single MAC address except the one that i cant use. But i have found why my internet wasnt working and it was because of the MAC address being blocked, i went in the ipv4 and ipv6 option and found out that they were both set to something ive never set and not to automatic... i set them all to automatic and now i have access to internet!!!!
