wired connection repeatedly disabled after insert/remove cable.
There's a weird bug in my win7 x64 ultimate.
realtek gigabit ethernet port on my laptop.
It's set to automatically obtain ip address from router dhcp.
When I pull/insert the cat5 several times (while troubleshooting router, I have to switch between wired/wireless), eventually windows is no longer able to obtain an ip address from any router it is plugged into.
while the cat5 is plugged in, it has a spasm, cycling from plugged in to unplugged, to disabled, then it tries again repeatedly, never successfully obtaining an ip address from the router.
If I try to disable/enable the nic, it doesn't help. same spasm cycle.
The only way to fix the issue is to reboot the computer.
Is there a trick to preventing windows from spazzing out like this so I don't have to reboot the pc?
