    Acer ES1 411 driver errors

I had a total laptop failure last week and would have cost more to
fix than replace (Yes EVERYTHING was backed up)

So I'm now the owner of a shiny new ACER Es1-411.

It was running Win 8 so I backed up the drivers, reset the BIOS to allow a legacy USB Boot, copied my ISO disk as an executable to a memory stick and nuked the Win 8 install along with the 6 (SIX!!!) partitions it had created.

I've now a clean Win 7 Home Premium install working with one exception.

The wifi driver isn't Win 7 compatible, and, I can't find one on line anywhere.

Wondering if you had any suggestions.

I'm looking for an ethernet cable ( I know I have one somewhere) so I can at least get on line... But an the moment am open to ideas!

    Any help appreciated !!

UPDATE: I got a USB Wifi dongle an that can now at least see my wifi network.
It looks as if the error is in the Network Adaptor installation.

I'm aware I may have totally borked this, but am open to suggestions... (Including discussions of
    what an idiot I've been...)

Many thanks for the speedy reply!

Will check when I get home.

As far as I remember it wasn't showing at all in device manager.

    I've one of these now.

SCAN - Edimax EW-7722UTn V2 300Mbps Wireless Mini USB Adapter - USB / PCI Cards - Wireless / WiFi - Network - Computing & Tablets - Malta Shop for Laptops, Notebooks, Computers, Acer, Apple, Asus, Canon, Dell, HP, Sony - Acer Service Centre in Malta

Which can see my home network Ok, but, it just won't connect.

Windows diagnostics is saying network adaptor faulty....

The machine I had that died has a keyboard failure, so, I've hooked a USB keyboard up
and I can pull drivers down as necessary and port them via USB.

note : the usb wi-fi adapter seems to be fine.

    I suspect the Network Adapter...

once I actually get a connection I can update the others (graphics etc...)

    thanks

    Loading drivers

    Thanks again,

I'll post the network adaptor settings later.

Any idea how I can download those drivers when I don't have a network connection?
    The ethernet isn't working either.

I thought to D/l to my old laptop but the update will only seem to work on the target machine.

I'm thinking of linking my phone via USB and seeing if that will act as a wifi hotspot / pass through
    for the Acer unit.

    Any thoughts?

Regards, and, thanks again for your time.

Hi Dave ... Was just checking on the Acer Website there ...

They all contain EXE Files so just Download them copy to a Flash Drive and Install ...

I also noticed all the DRivers contain Drivers for Windows 7 ...

Though it does not state that on the Acer Website ...
