How change the MAC address of a networked computer

    Noob question here

I would like to change the MAC address of a networked computer

What is the correct sequence to follow in order to keep it on the domain?

The MAC address is hard coded into the hardware by the manufacturer and is not changeable by the user

You may be able to spoof the address the adapter provides to the network

Some vendor software will not work if you change the first 6 characters of the MAC address. It ignores the adapter and you might not get an IP.
